In addition to the many projects funded through VISION 2000, the conference center is also the site of one of your mission projects in WV, named the Killingsworth- Wolfe Missionary House. The three bedroom house, completed in June 2001, is located just below the Lodges on the right side of the driveway.
The house was a joint project of the congregation of the First Baptist Church of Glenville, WV, the American Baptist Men of WV, and the American Baptist Women’s Ministries of WV. Funding of materials was provided by the church and the labor by the American Baptist Men/WV with the leadership from the ABMen of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church. The American Baptist Women’s Ministries of WV furnished and decorated the house.
When American Baptist missionaries are commissioned to serve overseas they usually sell their homes here in the states. After four years on the mission field, they return to the U.S. for a one-year home assignment. The vision for this residence was to provide comfortable, affordable housing for those families during the assignment period.
The residence is also available to ABC missionaries on a short-term basis when they are visiting our churches in West Virginia.
