The Friends of Parchment Valley support the mission work that is accomplished at the West Virginia Baptist Conference Center, known affectionately as “Parchment Valley,” where lives are changed. Parchment Valley hosts numerous youth groups and events, the children’s Spring & Fall Rallies, as well as Spiritual Growth Retreats for ABWM, individual churches, and associations. The West Virginia Baptist Convention holds events annually at Parchment Valley to help in the training and equipping of lay and pastoral leadership for our local churches. The WVBC School of Christian Studies holds regular classes on our campus and we are home to the Palmer Theological Seminary extension.
The Friends of Parchment Valley are individuals, couples, and families who partner with the WV Baptist Conference Center to stand in the gap to provide additional operating capitol so that the ministry of the Conference can continue to operate. Parchment Valley receives operating funds from four main sources:
- Fees for the use of facilities, lodging, and meals (70%)
- An annual subsidy from the WVBC as part of the mission giving of our local churches (10%)
- Direct financial support from local church (as part of their annual budgets) and from individuals who are part of the Friends of Parchment Valley (10%)
- Interest earned by permanent endowment and trust accounts (10%)
By becoming a member of the Friends of Parchment Valley, you are seizing the opportunity to contribute to the overall mission of your conference center. You are investing in the future of this beautiful facility and making a difference in the lives of people all over the state of West Virginia by making it possible for our leaders to receive training to disciple others so they can go boldly into all the world sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
